Definition of Terms

 

 

·        Prohibited items – items whose import into the country is prohibited.    

·        Items admitted conditionally – items whose importation into the country is allowed with the term if a document issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country is presented.    

·        Items admitted without conditions – items whose import into the country is allowed.

List of articles prohibited as imports into the Republic of Uzbekistan
 
Pursuant to article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations, the content of all documents of a religious nature arriving in the Republic of Uzbekistan from abroad is subject to examination by experts, in accordance with the established legislative procedure.
 
Religious documents which contravene article 19 of the above-mentioned law will not be delivered to the addressee and will be returned to their point of origin.
 
In addition, the postal administration of Uzbekistan wishes to recall that, in accordance with national legislation, it is prohibited to send the following articles by post to Uzbekistan: marijuana, presspublications, manuscripts, printing plates, drawings, film, negatives, audio and video recordings and disks which undermine the State, social order, territorial integrity, political independence and the foundations of the State, inciting war, terrorism, violence, nationalism, religious hatred and fascism in all its manifestations. It is also prohibited to send by post all reproductions of a pornographic nature.
 
The postal administration of Uzbekistan does not accept ordinary or registered items containing coins that are legal tender, banknotes, cheques, postage stamps, currency in circulation on theterritory of a foreign country, gold, silver or other valuable articles specified in article 25.5 of the Universal Postal Convention.
 
Furthermore, because of the dissemination of anthrax via postal items, the postal administration of Uzbekistan does no longer accept ordinary and registered items, postal parcels and EMS items containing powder.
 
 
List of articles prohibited in transit via the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan
 
 
1   Arms, ammunition and military equipment.
 
2   Apparatus and parts thereof; instruments and their equipment.
 
3   Machine-tools and machines for manufacturing arms, ammunition and flying machines.
 
4   Explosives.
 
5   Strong poisons.
 
6   Articles prohibited as imports into the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
NB:  The above articles may be admitted in transit with the authorization of the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Affairs in agreement with the Cabinet.
 
 
 
List of articles admitted conditionally into the Republic of Uzbekistan
 
 
1   Arms and military equipment, supplementary articles for the production of this type of material, under licences issued by the
Ministry of Foreign and Economic Affairs on instructions from the Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
2   Precious metals, alloys and products made out of them, ores, concentrated products, scrap and waste from precious metals, precious natural stones and products made out of them,waste, powder of precious stones, pearls and amber and products made out of them.
 
3   Medicaments, poisons, narcotics and psychotropic substances.
 
4   Chemical products for the protection of plants.
 
5   Articles prohibited as imports into the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
NB:  The items in paragraphs 1 to 5 are admitted as imports under licences issued by the Ministry of Foreign and Economic
Affairs on instructions from the Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
6   Cinematographic films, video recordings and audio recordings may be imported with the authorization of the Ministry of
Culture.
 
7   Uzbekistan's plant quarantine service seizes and checks all seeds, even those that have already undergone a quarantine check in the country of origin of the items in question. The dispatch ofseeds and other agricultural products to Uzbekistan is allowed only upon authorization issued by the Head of Quarantine Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan – "Ouzbochedavkarantine".
